Bourj Hammoud Western Armenian Programme

The Centre for Western Armenian Studies is looking for the next participant in its Bourj Hammoud Western Armenian Programme. This is a one-year programme designed to train the next generation of teachers of Western Armenian. The successful candidate will move to Beirut for one year, where they will follow a course of Western Armenian language study and work in the Armenian community.

Candidates must:

  • Be over 18 years of age;
  • Have been born and raised within a Western Armenian speaking family and environment, being exposed to the language for a reasonable amount of time;
  • Speak Western Armenian;
  • Be willing to teach the language in their respective communities.

After meticulous consideration the successful candidates will be asked to submit a cover letter, which will be followed by a video interview. This programme will only run if a suitable candidate is found.

This project is designed and supervised by Dr Krikor Moskofian (Director, Centre for Western Armenian Studies).
